Digest (Monthly Wrap)

The last two months have been all about giving you sharper insight and more control over how you see your data. We've rolled out a range of metrics improvements to help you break down your numbers exactly the way you need. We've also introduced a set of visual upgrades to reports, making them more customizable and easier to read at a glance. Finally, our AI Summaries have gotten smarter too, now doing a better job of sharing the right context when you need it.

Metrics V2 is new functionality that needs to be turned on by your CSM - if you're not seeing any of the functionality below in your Cascade instance, reach out to them to get it switched on.

New metric chart builder

Metrics can now be displayed visually with the new Metric Chart Builder. Turn any metric into a fully customizable chart in just a few clicks. choose from chart types like line, bar, area, and combo, layer in multiple metrics side by side, and switch between presets like Time, Period, and Dimension depending on the story you want to tell.

Fine-tune your view with date ranges, granularity, and stacking options, and pull in targets, budgets, and forecasts from the data sources panel to see performance against metrics at a glance.

Calculated formulas in Metrics & Facets

Metrics now include formulas for both calculated metrics and well as when configuring facets. Every formula comes with a plain-language explanation, including a summary of what it's doing, a step-by-step breakdown for nested or multi-part formulas, and a mathematical expression of the formula itself.

Historical Progress Columns

See how you're actually progressing over time, not just where you stand today. Add weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly progress snapshots right into your reports tables, so trends jump out at a glance instead of getting buried in a single "current value" column.

We've also added cell shading and variance, so you can instantly spot how each period compares to the last and see where you're gaining or falling behind.

You can also choose how big numbers display: Auto, Full, or abbreviated to Thousands (K), Millions (M), or Billions (B).

Note: Historical Progress Columns are available on Metrics V2 only.

Insights, visible to your whole workspace

Alignment doesn’t need to depend on who was in the room. If you'd like, insights captured by Tapestry Connect can now be made visible to every user in your workspace, not just meeting attendees. They'll show up automatically in Objective summaries and Update suggestions, so your whole team can see what's actually happening across the business, whether or not it's made it into a formal update yet.

This is fully optional and toggleable by your Cascade team in Workspace Settings — just reach out to your CSM if you'd like it turned on.

Customizable Measure/Metric cards

There is now more control over how your key numbers display: turn off values shown on a card, improved number formatting throughout, full support for units and decimal precision on Mv2, and proper unit formatting on supporting numbers like Forecast, Budget, and Target.

Better AI summaries

Summaries load significantly faster, Objective summaries now pull directly from insights with zero user intervention needed, and prompts better understand health status. We've also improved link reliability and moved to a richer, simpler, more positively-balanced format.

And summaries are now more likely to respond in the majority language of the report content. eg. if a an report has mostly Spanish updates the summary will now produce an Spanish summary, rather than defaulting to English.

Also shipped

  • Choose whether update reminders go to the Owner, Collaborators, or both, at the workspace level. Useful when execs own a goal but someone else on the team handles the actual updates.

  • Based on your feedback, the metrics library got a few nice quality-of-life improvements: new columns showing whether a Metric or Facet is Calculated or Raw, a filter on each table, and the ability to sort most columns.

  • We've renamed Reports to Reports & Dashboards, to reflect how most of you are already using them. If your workspace is one of the few still using Dashboards as a separate area, no change for you, that tab still reads "Reports."

Notable Fixes

  • Fixed Discover table performance issues that could crash reports on large tables

  • Fixed CSV export issues (line breaks, missing section labels, incorrect progress %, text trimming)

  • Fixed checklist dates shifting when editing or checking off items

  • Fixed compact mode hiding the "show more" button on updates

  • Tapestry Connect wasn’t processing meetings with transcripts taking over 2 hours to finalize, that has now been fixed

Digest (Monthly Wrap)

Smarter updates, better looking reports, and your meetings finally feeding your strategy. Here's everything new in Cascade.

Better looking reports

Reports just got more flexible. You can now add coloured backgrounds to report headers and change the font colour to match, giving you proper control over branding and visual structure. Text widgets now support full colour and font size control too, so you can build more slide-like reports and decks that update themselves and actually look the part.

Page numbers are also available on report exports, enabled from the export settings panel.

Full details in the release article.

Connect Meeting Tools & Extract Insights

Your meetings are already full of strategy updates. Now Cascade can hear them.

Connect your Microsoft Teams or Zoom account and Tapestry (Cascade's AI engine) will pull insights from your meetings, mapped to the goals and projects your team owns in Cascade. After a meeting, you'll get suggested updates ready to review and post. No writing from scratch.

Open any goal and the sidebar will show you the latest facts Tapestry has picked up: what was said, when, and with what confidence. Nothing posts without your approval.

Head to your Tapestry settings to connect your account. Your IT admin may need to approve the connection first.

Full details in the release article.

Upload documents directly to Tapestry AI

Not everything important happens in a meeting. Now you can upload documents directly to Tapestry and it will extract relevant facts for your goals, the same way it does with meeting transcripts.

Drop in a project report, a strategy document, a board pack, or any file with useful context. Tapestry reads it, maps the content to your goals, and surfaces facts as suggested updates for you to review and post.

File Hub gives you a central place to manage everything you've uploaded. See what's been processed, what facts were extracted, and which goals were updated as a result.

Full details in the release article.

Attach files to your updates

You can now attach files directly to goal and project updates. Drop in a report, a deck, or any supporting document and it lives right alongside the update, visible anywhere updates appear including report tables and sidebars.

Tapestry reads the attachment too. Any file you upload can generate facts for your goals, surfacing suggested updates based on the content. Processing takes a few minutes, so suggestions won't be instant, but they'll be there.

New

Reports in Cascade have always been powerful. Now they look the part too.

We've shipped a set of improvements that give you much more control over the look and feel of your reports, whether you're building an executive dashboard, a leadership deck, or a branded strategy review.

Header background colours. Add a coloured background, divider and logo to any report header and change the font colour to match. A simple way to brand your reports or visually separate sections.

Text widget formatting. Text widgets now support full colour control and font size options, giving you the tools to build slide-like pages with real visual structure.

Page numbers on exports. Exported reports can now show page numbers at the bottom of each page. Enable it from the report edit settings panel.

Table sizing and density. Report tables now support Standard and Compact display settings, plus a table scaling option. Compact mode reduces row height to fit more data on screen, useful when you want a dense, data-focused view without sacrificing the full table. Table scaling lets you compress the table further to fit more on a page.

Smaller text and image widgets. Text and image widgets can now be resized down to a single column wide, the smallest grid unit available. Useful for tighter layouts and denser pages.

Export padding improvements. Fixed an issue where the first page of an exported report had more padding at the top than the rest of the pages.

New

Two amazing new features tied together in one. Attach files to updates to provide evidence or add files to Tapestry to improve AI insights across the product.

Attach Files to Updates

You can attach a file directly to an update on a goal to provide additional materials or supporting evidence. We also make this file available to Tapestry just for you so you can get better insights and better update suggestions.

Upload Files to Tapestry AI

Tapestry can extract strategic facts from documents you upload, turning meeting notes, reports, project briefs, and other files into suggested goal updates without any manual re-entry.

The File Hub is the primary place to upload documents you want Tapestry to process. Use it for files that relate to your goals but aren't tied to a specific update, such as strategy documents, project reports, or board packs.

Report tables can now pull goals from across your entire workspace, without selecting every plan. With objective filters, you can build tables that bring together goals from multiple plans in one view, filtered exactly how you need them easier than ever before.

This makes it much easier to build things like project portfolio views, cross-functional reports, and executive dashboards that reflect how your organisation actually works, rather than being limited to one plan at a time.

How it works

When configuring a table widget in a report, use the objective filter options to select goals from across your workspace. You can filter by plan, owner, focus area, status, or any combination, giving you precise control over what appears in the table.

applying filters

When to use it

Use anytime you want to bring your a set of goals from across your workspace together with all of their success criteria. Some great examples:

  • Building a PMO or project portfolio view that spans multiple teams

  • Creating a cross-functional report for leadership that pulls key goals from several plans. e.g. All “Transformation Objectives” from across the workspace.

  • Tracking a specific focus area or theme across the whole organisation

New

Your goals don't exist in a vacuum. Every decision made, blocker raised, and win logged in your meetings has shaped where you are today — and now you can see exactly that.

The new Insights History tab on your goals stitches together facts extracted from your meetings and files into a chronological timeline of decisions, blockers, and progress. Instead of relying on memory or hunting through old notes, you get a clear, structured record of the context behind every goal — automatically.

This is the foundation for the richer AI capabilities coming later this year, and it gets smarter with every meeting and update.

Meetings & Files

We've launched a new personal hub that brings together everything Tapestry AI has learned from your work: automatically ingested meetings from Teams, Google Meet, or Zoom via Tapestry Connect, plus any transcripts or notes you've uploaded manually.

From here you can:

  • Review meeting summaries: topics discussed, action items, captured decisions, and open questions, all generated automatically from your transcript.

  • See insights mapped to your goals: the facts, gaps, and decisions Tapestry extracted and matched to your work in Cascade.

  • Manage your files: delete anything that shouldn't be there; purging a file removes all associated summaries and insights.

Privacy note: Your meetings are yours. Cascade administrators cannot see them. Insights on a goal are scoped to users who have access to the source meeting or file - nobody else. Read more…

See insights extracted from all uploaded meetings and files.

Also in this release

  • Manual file upload now available as a fallback if you don't use Tapestry Connect, or if a meeting is missing, Tapestry processes uploaded transcripts the same way as connected meetings.

  • PDF, DOCX, PPT, XLSX and other common document formats coming soon.

New

Your meetings are already full of strategy updates. Now Cascade can hear them.

Every week, your team talks about what's on track, what's blocked, and what's changed. Until now, that context lived in meeting recordings and faded fast. Tapestry Connect changes that.

Connect your Microsoft Teams, or Zoom account and Tapestry will automatically pull insights from your meetings, mapped directly to the goals and projects your team owns in Cascade.

Here's what you get:

Suggested updates, ready to post. After a meeting, Tapestry drafts goal updates based on what was actually discussed. Risks, progress, decisions. You review, edit if needed, and post. No writing from scratch.

Insights surfaced in your goal sidebar. Open any goal and you'll see the latest facts Tapestry has picked up. What was said, when, and with what confidence. The full picture, without chasing anyone for a status.

Nothing posts without your approval. Tapestry puts the right information in front of you, and you decide what gets shared!

In our final stretch of Q4 and the start of a fresh year, December and January were focused on streamlining collaboration and personalizing your workspace. These updates are designed to help you gather data faster and ensure your strategic environment feels like home.

Feature spotlight: Update requests

Drive accountability and save time gathering insights

Gathering updates for leadership reviews and board meetings shouldn't be a manual chase. With the new Update Requests feature, you can now request updates directly from any report. Owners receive an email and an in-app notification, leading them to a seamless update carousel to provide their inputs. You can even filter by "days since last update" to ensure you’re only asking for what’s truly missing. Read more…

Custom Branding

Make Cascade your own You can now align Cascade with your company’s identity. Admins can upload a workspace-level logo, set the company name, and use a new color picker to define primary and secondary brand colors. These settings automatically apply to report templates and widgets, ensuring a consistent professional look across your strategy.

Small improvements

  • Update suggestions prompt – Get a head start on your updates with AI-powered suggestions.

  • Home header branding – Your workspace logo and colors now shine right at the top of your Home page.

  • Merged pins and favorites – We’ve simplified your navigation by combining these into a single, unique section.

  • Improved Report Summaries – Rename and save custom widget titles, enjoy better loading states for large content, and use the new "retry" button if no content is initially detected.

  • Enhanced Navigation – Added hover states to the objective one-pager and alphabetically sorted measures for better clarity and predictability.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a case where a measure’s expected progress was incorrectly calculated in the Planner.

  • Resolved an issue where report titles were duplicated when the timezone notification appeared.

  • Corrected the % completion calculation in MyWork to properly account for "Exceeded" goals.

  • Fixed a bug where dragging and dropping columns in the discover table was unresponsive.

  • Solved a UI issue where the AI summary would overlap with the discover table.

  • Resolved an instance where switching plans would incorrectly keep a newly added objective in view.

  • Fixed an issue where scheduled update email reminders were not being sent.

  • Patched a sync issue where deleted strategy elements could still appear in discover tables.

  • Fixed various localization and decimal point inconsistencies across metrics and tables.

  • Resolved a case where emails contained oversized images.
