Surface insights from newly uploaded files automatically in updates
Today, uploading material to find insights (e.g. via Tapestry Connect) doesn't make those insights available for use in goal updates right away — you can attach the file, but the AI-derived insights aren't surfaced for insertion into the update itself. This feels disconnected: the product invites you to upload content to find insights, but you can't yet act on those insights from within the update flow. Requested: a button/action (e.g. "Find insights from uploaded content") that scans files uploaded since the last update, and where the AI judges them relevant, surfaces/inserts suggested insights directly into the update — rather than requiring a separate round trip through the Insights library. Related to existing requests on Tapestry Connect Insights — this one is specifically about immediacy: insights from an upload should be available for the update right away, not on a delay.
Won't Do status is not clear in planner + still able to make updates
Grace Design was exploring using the “Won’t Do” status, but the greying out is too subtle for them, and you still can make narrative updates which is misleading.
Ability to add success criteria from element side panel/goal hub
ALS Association is having users add success criteria to projects as part of their annual operating plan rollover and the majority are having a hard time finding where they can actually add the success criteria which is causing a lot of frustration. Intuitively, you would expect that you could add success criteria from the element side panel “Success Criteria” tab (see screenshot). However, the only place you can add it is from the planner view (small plus icon or clicking “add success criteria” if an element has none). Most of these end users are used to interacting with Cascade through My Work or a filtered report to see what they specifically are responsible for. In the planner view, they would have to “hunt and peck” through everything to find the individual elements that they own and are responsible for adding success criteria to. If the ability to add success criteria was added to the “Success Criteria” tab, then users would be able to add it from wherever they click into their project (from My Work, a report, or the planner). This would be a huge improvement to the user experience and much more intuitive!
Don't show days since last update for completed tasks
Currently there is a red notice when there has been significant time since last update. Though useful, this shouldn’t be the case for completed elements or excedeed within the time frame. It sets the idea that something is wrong (last update in red colour) where there is no problem.
Differentiate null values from "0"
Currently if a measure is set up as maintain bellow a number with a minimum of 0 (lets say between 0-10) then the measure will be shown “on track” even if the owner never updated the value and, consequently never moved the slider. The value should be “null” and instead of showing on track it should bring the attention to the fact that it has never been modified. It sends the wrong message and affects proper tracking and accountability.
Ability to look at health of short and long term plans
St.Jude struggles with using health scores because sometimes they want to look at a 1-year plan in isolation and sometimes they want to look at the full picture of their 5-year plan. The health of the focus areas and long term objectives need to be set to the timeline of one plan or the other, the system isn’t able to provide an accurate view of both.
Objective Level Permissions
Ability to toggle permissions of a goal. Currently only way to do it is create it in a separate Plan and link in.
Ability to edit/"post all" insights from Tapestry Connect Insights
Grace Design would like the ability to not only review the Insights from a call in the Insights library, but be able to make any tweaks/edits to the updates and then "post all" right from there rather than having to go to each individual objectives to actually see the AI suggestions and post each update. This seems like a great way to keep the "human in the loop" but makes it way easier to get the insights into the update/report!
Create a new category for who is responsible for updating an object
When there is an owner and multiple contributors, the default is that the owner is the only one to get the reminder to do the update. In many organizations, the owner isn’t going to actually do the update, but it’s one of the contributors. BUT the client (Napco) doesn’t want everyone to get notified —- Their recommendation was to have a new category for the person who is responsible for updating so only THEY get the reminder for update…
Success Criteria Order: Mirror the Planner View
The Success Criteria order in the Success Criteria tab within the Goal does not mirror the Planner view order which is frustrating.
Switching to Custom Weighting should turn on all weights
When you first switch to custom weighting, it defaults to turning everything off, which then requires to turn on each one back on and set values. Would make more sense for them all to start as on, with the same weight (1) if that’s what it was at before.
Ability to provide instructions so AI suggestions promote consistent style and format
John at Vizient would like to be able to provide our AI engine with instructions (he calls this a "skill" - see document attached) so that the AI suggestions help leaders craft updates with a consistent style and format.
Bulk edits and copy from Report view
Enable bulk features at report level. Would help do consistent changes to, for example, project that are transversal to various plans.
Over due status for objectives past due date
Rather than the objective/objective types taking the average of its corresponding success criteria, there should be an additional label/health status that makes the objective at risk or labelled as over due if its past the end date and not at 100%.
Admin control of user notification settings
ABS does not want executives in Cascade getting notifications, but they want other users to be able to get them. The ability for admins to manage individual user’s notification settings (rather than making the executive leaders log in to Cascade and walking them through how to turn off notifications), would be a huge help in being able to globally turn on notifications. I know that Vizient would benefit from this as well!
Create "Approvals" at the plan level
In the plan settings, or maybe the top of the plan, would like admin to be able to define an approval level, then have a section to the right where a user click on approval and “sign” their approval with a timestamp. Could see a client wanting many approvals, so the ability to add like up to 5 would be useful. This is another element in the bucket of Middle East clients who would use this. (it’s different than the updater role as it’s just at the top level of the plan and more for documentation)
Custom Weights - All On/Off
A few clients (most recently, Unavailable) mentioned that it would be useful when dealign with custom weights if there was a toggle to turn them all on, or all off. When there are many, selecting each one can be a bit annoying.
Reminders set to local timezone
Reminders should be set to the workspace timezone, not AUS timezone. This may cause messages to go out earlier than intended in many client workspaces.
